We do ask that users who wish to interact with the Cyprus presidency through social media bear in mind the rules referred to below. The Presidency reserves the right to delete and/or report posts that do not comply with the rules, without any obligation to state the reasons for measures taken.
As etiquette rules for the interaction of users with the social media accounts of the Cyprus presidency, we ask that tone and language be kept polite at all times and that no posts be published that:
- constitute a lack of respect or an attack on individuals, ethnic groups, religious beliefs, sexual choices, gender identity or political preferences, as well as the use of pornographic elements, defamation, disrespectful language, verbal violence, threats, or infringements of copyright or any other rights affecting individuals or entities
- contain false or misleading information
- contain criminal elements or accuse a person or a group of persons of crime (in which case the posts will also be reported)
- do not relate to the issue in question (for example, the use of spam or comment chains)
- are similar or the same and published repeatedly.
Where the above rules are not strictly adhered to, the Cyprus presidency reserves the right to delete or hide posts without prior notice and to block users who infringe the rules.
