The purpose of the meeting is to hand over the Presidency of the Council Working Party on Statistics from the outgoing Trio (Poland, Denmark, Cyprus) to the incoming Trio (Ireland, Lithuania, Greece).

Participating member states discuss the state-of-play of pending legislative proposals in the field of statistics, while the Commission (Eurostat) presents its plans with regard to legislative files in the pipeline.
