The purpose of the informal meeting of EU Fisheries Directors-General (DGs) and Attachés is to discuss and shape the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP), focusing on high-level, often challenging, issues like sustainability, aquaculture, climate change impacts, fuel costs, in an informal setting before formal Council meetings.

During this meeting, Directors will discuss the issue of invasive alien species, with the Cyprus Presidency highlighting their impact on fisheries in the context of climate change.
