The exhibition presents the series "Nicosia International Airport", a photographic series by Andros Efstathiou documenting the abandoned site of Lefkosia’s former airport and works of art from the European Parliament Contemporary art collection, within the framework of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU.
Through a restrained and almost theatrical gaze, Efstathiou approaches the airport not as a historical document but as a monument to interruption, as a place where absence, waiting and incompletion become central narrative forces.
The exhibition reflects on memory, spectatorship and national narrative within contemporary Cypriot art, offering a quiet yet politically resonant reading of the landscape.
The host of the opening of the exhibition is Ms Miriam Lexmann, MEP, Quaestor and Chair of Artistic Committee.
The event is closed to the public.
